I think there is little that can be done as they get pitted. I am off to pick up some more sill trims on friday and I am taking a vent with me to look at getting a new one made in highly polished stainless steel. I am also taking the no plate cover that is also mazak and this tends to get pitted. I will let you know how I get on.

Boot handle would be a good one too. I'd certainly be interested in a scuttle grille - mine is poor. I would have had some sill trims, but I had some made from P5 Mk3 wing trims a few years back.

Andy, when i first got my car i cleaned the intake grill by putting a large artist brush (plenty of bristles) in a cordless drill chuck and with autosolve cleaned the hard to reach areas and it came up a treat.
strange, but it worked. Big Kev.

Almost a novel way of putting toothpaste on the end of the brush and cleaning your teeth as well. ;D ;D
