I hope someone can help me.
After butchering a wiper motor from a Ford Zodiac for parts for my motor, I went to put the motor back in the car and couldn't find my workshop manual anywhere!
I did have markings on the wires to tell me where to put them back but the sparky removed them when he was evaluating it!
So, can anyone help me with the wiring? Either with a description of which wire goes where or better still an emailed wiring diagram.
The only diagram I can find is for the Mk1 or MK11 cars and even they differ slightly. My car is a '72 B Coupe.

Does nobody have this info handy?
I'm very keen to get my wipers working so I can get the car warranted......

The wiring diagram is in the hand book - but as you say there are many wires and the ones that come out of the motor are different colours to those which go into the loom as the switch - I cannot look at this immediately but I will see what I can do within the week if you send me a personal message through this forum giving your own email address.

I have only a 3 litre wiring diagram. Try wiring a bulb to earth and experiment with the feeds to see what is what when you turn on the wiper switch. I would have thought you could work out a solution by trial and error this way. Good luck

I've only got a 3.0litre handbook too! I never got a 3.5litre version with the car. I do have a 3.5litre workshop supplement but I can't find it anywhere! I felt sure I'd left it in the car.
Of course, I'm assuming this has a wiring diagram in it?
Wiper motors are few and far between here in NZ and I don't want to risk wiring it up incorrectly and burning it out!

Given that you live so far away I will try to get some info to you but Mk11 cars onwards had the 2 speed wipers and the wiring stayed the same till the end - the motor was the same anyway it was just the switching that changed between Mk 1 and 2's Rover gave the option of two wiper speeds by merely swapping over two (crucial!!) cables
Your main problem will be identifying the wiring colours on the motor as I think the wiring remained the fabric covered stuff whch fades, goes black or falls off. Can you indicate whether these are still present as if they are its just a matter of connecting up like with like to the loom through to the special console switch. The earths are black and these go into a double connector as do two other ignition fed lives both to motor and from loom. A switch bypass wire goes to the self park switch internally through the motor to the top where the wiper linkage attaches
The self park/reversing mechanism is the complicated bit

Thanks guys.
The only problem is, that my wiring isn't the same on the motor side and the car (switch) side. The wiring diagram for the P5B appears to imply the colours are the same at either end but the 3litre ones I've got are different either end and therefore leads me to believe I may have some non-standard wiring. Could this be down to my car being NZ new (an export model)? Or maybe it's just been modified.
Perhaps I need to start using my brain a bit more in order to sort this out!
