I naively thought I might finally get my car running and ready for the MOT today but it wasn't to be. My accelator linkage wasn't working correctly and after removing the inlet manifold and associated bits to get at the linkage I found that all three mounting bracket bearings are missing. They are part number 545571. I just wanted to know if they are something you can still get hold of and if so from where?
Thanks
Roger

Wadhams stocked them once - I also got some from a Land Rover specialist but not sure of part number now.
can be turned up from nylon bar

I, too, need these bearings and although JRW isn't listing them, he thinks he has some at £7.50 each + carriage + VAT. At that price I'm interested in turning them from nylon bar if this material is easy to get hold of. Are there different grades, Phil? By the way, I thought there were five bearings n total, three one size and two smaller.

Yes there are + 2 extra (and a different one again for the X shaft autos). + one for the head kickdown linkage on V8's
There are different nylon grades but I would think the hardest you can get if there is a choice - perhaps you could turn some for us all?

Obviously I would be interested in a set. If they weren't available I was going to look to get some made up anyway but I don't want to duplicate anyone else's efforts.
Regards
Roger

Once again these would be useful to cllub members as most like me have no access to machining facilities

A friend of mine has turned up the three bushes that I require. He has made them out of black nylon. I am sure they are not the same as the originals which were probably moulded rubber but they work fine. If anybody is interested I can ask him if he would make some more and if so what they would cost.

They were nylon - I am sure we would be interested as nylon degrades as well as wears
