The road run from Stirling to Kellie Castle and Anstruther on 2 July was poorly supported, with only 5 cars turning out. This was possibly due to poor weather, indeed the run alternated between torrential rain and bright sunshine all day. The brave few still had a good day out, with a picnic lunch in the walled garden at Kellie Castle under the gazebos, followed by a short afternoon run down to Anstruther for fish & chips by the harbour. Nice to see Tom Wilson had his P5B Coupe back on the road after its prolonged stay in Ulster awaiting a repaint. Thanks to Tom and Bill McCreath for organising the run, hope the poor response does not preclude similar runs in the future.

Hi Trevor
the turnout was disappointing some people were unwell and others on holiday.
Yes great to see Toms coupe back in Scotland Hurray !!!!!
The white 3500S thoroughly enjoyed the drive shame about the horrendous weather.
Just put a factory reconditioned 4 speed manual box in the P6 new brake pads front and rear rear flexi pipes obviously original 34 years old and in hellish condition. You cant really see them with the discs in place. And reconditioned rear callipers. Both the gearbox and rear brakes are a horrible job.
Car is lovely to drive now no more wrestling with the gear selector, whining or rumblings I honestly thought the gearbox was going to explode.
Why oh why they never fitted an overdrive would have made a great car even better.
The car now belongs to my dad.
Hopefully next year my coupe will be ready it is road legal but mostly in red undercoat after its rebuild so not pretty.
I am going on holiday driving through the Isle of Skye, Harris and Lewis with my mk 2 jag.
Hoping for good weather
I did the same drive in my coupe 2 years ago and in the 3500s the year before.
Love all the cars they are so different.

Not a bad setting though! ;D You can't ever book the weather although I wish it would rain in the south at the moment due to the heatwave. I hope the weather is better on the next rally.

It was a very enjoyable day out. The only road worthy Rover I had available was my 1995 216 coupe which has just had a respray and is looking good. Unfortunatley My inlaws are visiting from south africa and it isn't a very good car with 4 grown ups so the Audi on the end is us. Thanks to Trevor for Taking them a run down to the chippy, they enjoyed the experience and the company. Next year I will take either the p6 or the p5 if I manage to get them back on the road in time.

The South African Easter eggs went down well too! A great alternative to the deep fried Mars bars!
