A pair of Rovers (John and Mark's) taking a well earned rest in Blandford, Dorset, by the river. The Dorset Tour takes place annually and covers around ninety miles of country roads, a lot not normally seen by the average motorist. Around ninety cars took part with an age range from 1923 through to the early 1980's, on one of the hottest days of the year. Not one had overheating problems. Only three cars broke down, and only one didn't finish the run as a front ball joint snapped off. A picnic stop was held by the river in Blandford and it was nice to cool off under the trees. The event finished in Weymouth with a static display, cream tea, and a live band. If the event goes ahead next year I will post the details on the site, so if any Rover owner is interested in making up the numbers for an enjoyable day out they will know who to contact.

Sounds good - have you gone off your P5B saloon - we have only seen your Coupe recently? Have you still got the Super Snipe?

No Phil I haven't gone off my P5B Saloon. With six vehicles to play with, I have had to do a spread sheet to colour code them and try and spread them out over the season. I still have the Supersnipe and that will be out again after this weekend through to 1st weekend in August. The P5B Saloon will follow that right through to the end of Sept, together with the Coupe which I'll get my other half to drive when they both go out to the Purbeck Rally. I'm looking to bring the Saloon to the National.
