Another great evening out, with around 1500 vehicles on display. This was probably the hottest day of the year, although it was much hotter in the Silver Cup opposite. One lesson already learned, park the car and head straight over there, before it builds up. Thanks go to Peter for putting on something which I don't think can be repeated anywhere else in the UK. OK so we had the tail end of a thunderstorm later on in the evening, but it didn't seem to worry anyone unduly. In fact what rain we had was welcome as it helped to cool us down.
I think there was nine or ten varieties of P5's there, quite a good effort, as the numbers seem to grow a little each year.
What happened to Geoff Mooresheads' saloon? Did it succumb to the heat or what? How embarrassing to be have to towed in causing quite a tailback especially when the tow rope parted company. Well done to the person doing the towing.
I apologise for not getting involved, but as the saying goes, too many cooks spoil the broth.
I was originally going to get my camera out and take pics of the saga, but didn't want to embarrass him further with pics on this site.
Lots of old friends and new ones completed an interesting day, including a club member who twice came round and wanted to buy my Humber Supersnipe to no avail.
Once again well done Peter and all his helpers, and look forward to the same next year.
