Saturday 17th, Sunday18th February, 2007 The first chance of the year to get the Rover out and drive to the Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The entire show is held in 4 large interlinked halls and so you can enjoy viewing the cars regardless of the weather. The Bristol, Wilts and Somerset Region will be waving the P5 flag in the form of a club stand. Do come along and enjoy the first big event of 2007. John Stacey

Let's hope it's not as cold as last year, and our club at this point in time, has been allocated an area just inside a door going to the outside. So at the present unless any thing changes we won't be taking a car there. I see so far there has been no mention of the Restoration Show at the same site on Sat/Sunday, 11/12th November. I should be there, but not in my 3litre coupe as it had the honour last year, so it's the turn of the Humber Supersnipe this year. I try to take a different one each year to keep the interest going. So I hope to see you and David there.

Hi John,
Yep we (Great Western Saabs) will be there in the main hall with a couple of Saabs and a Saab caravan - yep, rare as hens teeth but they do exist.

Sorry Dave I never made it in the end. I went down with pneumonia and a lung infection at the beginning of the month, and this is the first time I have had the concentration to get on the computer. I may be hospitalised if the infection doesn't clear within the next couple of weeks. Oh dear! so much to do, and I can't even lift a screwdriver.

DF, I have had to have a CT scan due to fluid on my lung. I'm of to the hospital on Friday for the results. Maybe we could get together and perform as a couple of worn out bagpipes! I HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON. I can still run a couple of miles but I am totally knackered at the end!!

Thanks for all your messages of support. Glenn, they are hoping to drain off the fluid without me going into Hospital, but it's still touch and go.

Cheers Phil. Well, take it easy DF. My problem is due to a DVT (DEEP Vein Thrombosis) I got on my honeymoon when I was 27! It broke of and went on my lung causing a Pulmonary Embolism. The only trouble is the Hospital totally mis-diagnosed me and I suffered another two DVT's and another Embolism until they realised my blood was clotting abnormally. (that's me all over!!) So I am always on WARFARIN tablets that thin the blood. Sorry to make this point on the forum but don't stay seated for long periods(especially on flights) and move your legs around and drink plenty of water. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I went through.
I better add a Rover point the Buyers guide on my website is coming along nicely, I have covered the scuttle, splash panels and sills and will have it finished in the next week, covering all the other noted points.

Very slowly improving each day but my 'get up and go' has gone and left me, so I'm waiting for it to come back. As for jumping around, well I'll know when I can when I start playing Badminton twice a week. It sounds like you are in a far worse state than me Glenn, but hopefully that will right itself soon. I've got some x-rays to get on Wed so I'm hoping they show some signs of improvement in the lungs. I'll see what the Doc says on Friday. I know one thing, I will take the Jab against pneumonia as soon as I get a chance. The last time I thought I wouldn't need it and of course 'Sods Law' happens. Thanks again for the messages of support.
