Thats an awesome project...We could never afford to commission a project like that in this country whereas in the states re-bodying a project car is a fairly commonplace thing to do now... I just wish I had the guts, space and knowledge to try something like that myself!
Is there any kind of write up or website to accompany those pictures?? Any idea what the donor car is?

Maybe time to get the grinder out and attack one of yours Roy. I see he's going for the two door conversion and spreading the overall width to cover the wheels, very clever.

How brilliant is that....Those yanks certainly know what "modification" is all about when it comes to cars, I watch loads of those types of tv shows & they just pop down to their local shop & pick up a fully built V8 & Trans, drop it in,cut the "chassis" shorten the rear axle & away they go.
Wonder what the build cost of this will be ?
Big Kev.

That is some serious work, time and effort. If anyone noticed there is also a huge set of brake callipers behind the front wheels. Roy as amazing as the work is, its just time and focus. You have to want to give up a major portion of any social life you may have for this type of project. Go for it...if its a strong desire. Here's something amazing from New Zealand...apologies for not being Rover based but this beast was inspired by WW2 fighter planes and has certainly captured the feel of the period. This vehicle would be perfect for a Marvel Captain America prop. Here are 2 links: Kamikaze Coupe 1Kamikaze Coupe 2

Thats great too!
Knitting two car bodies together worries me that the welds wouldn't be strong enough in the event of an accident. I wouldnt trust my own ability! If the 'professionals' do it then it just seems like it will be safer!
Does anyone have any more info about the project P5 above?

I've managed to get in contact with the company doing this conversion and Im hoping to persuade them to let me put a feature together for the club magazine. If I can I reckon it will blow a few flat caps off in the club membership!

Interesting project but hardly a P5 anything it's a Cadillac CTS-V to lookie likie a P5! but still very clever working out what would fit in the first place, what came first the chicken or the egg? The shell didn't look that rotten Dave (I read your comment) I don't think they would have used it if it was

It's a shame, but the link has now gone private , so we can't see what's happening. I wonder if it got finished?

The Clubman/MX5 project started well but I fast-forwarded to the end & it looks terrible (even without the crash damage).
