Neat and nice "how to do pics".
I mounted mine on our current P5B at the side of the Reserve tap

Thanks Phil and Paul, if anyone has a flasher switch like mine and you need a bulb I would be happy to post one no charge.

I just did this modification too. I. Bought the switch on ebay, relay on vehicle wiring product etc. it turns out how evert that there is a more cost effective way to do it. Moss motors sell a kit that includes the relay and switch and it has a new bulb and between the jigs and the reels is more cost effective (only one shipping charge) I know this as further to installing the one in the rover, I bought the moss kit for my TR6. See HereWell worth doing this modification and very simple.

As you say this modification is worth doing, there are plenty of hazard kits about or you can just buy a switch trouble is some of them are far too modern and would look out of place, anyway well done and you cant beat the electronic flasher unit for a smooth steady flash.

The Kit moss sell that i posted the link to is correct for the period and identical to the used units available on auction sites. The advantage is that the switch is clean and all the cotacts are clean and the bulb works!!

I learnt last night that if you have hazard flashers and a battery isolator that by law the hazards must still work even when the battery is isolated.

Logical but how can this be enforced

OK boys, how about a simple wiring diagram so that the circuit can be adapted to P5s other than just Bs.

Attachment DeletedThe lights are just tapped into the same place - the column bullets or the indicators. The feed from the flasher unit (L) is removed either at the unit or the column bullets and connected to the switch. The switch feed to then goes to the unit. A battery control feed to the switch is also required and an earth if using the switch warning if it has one. It is a standard Lucas wiring set up and colours. I will see if I can find one. Its does not take long either Green/Red & Green/Red are the L/R indicators Green is battery control , Green/Pink is L terminal and Indicator switch but the colours can vary eg Green/Brown can be battery control. The indicators are always the colours stated and are the same on the car See Electrics Lightweight wiring diagram 10 at bottom www.series2club.co.uk/forum/forum/index.php/topic,75295.0.html
