Update on Olive: In order to get her in the garage I rent I first need to empty it of all my furniture, which in turn needs me to finish my conservatory so it has a place to live but it looks like its gonna be a couple of months now I've torn the ligaments in my shoulder and cant do any work ( bummer) Unfortunately , and I think dave70coupe will agree, unless I have a career change I'm B****red!! ( should've never given up my position as a pole dance oiler ;D). Anyway I went through my weekly ritual of starting her up , No problem, on the button which was a worry cos last week she started then limped and popped the length of my road, until I remembered ..duh..distributer, points .. DAMP. but today, after the gales last night had blown ther clouds away I started her up ..and oh man she sounded so fine, so fine in fact that I was tempted to take her round the block for a burble , which I did, I saw 2 other vehicles ,one a saloon the other a van load of council workers & got the big- up from council guys ( even in her rusted condition the lads can't say no!), took her back to my house and parked her up . Thought for the day: The Engine sounds and feels ok & the brakes work , should I just case her up get a ticket on her and use her or wait , get her in my garage and give her a right going over? (answers on a postcard please to: " P5B Dilemma. P.O.Box 5552150 !!))

Yes - its nice to drive a P5 - having finished work last Friday we have not used a P5 since last Saturday (the V8) till tonight and went out in the coupe (3 Litre) as it was dirty anyway so I will wash it down tomorrow.
Hope you recover but you must get your priorities right - sort your car so you can use it regularly

I agree sort the car properly then you can enjoy her to the full, still no harm in bunging her in for a ticket to get an idea of what needs doing..

still no harm in bunging her in for a ticket to get an idea of what needs doing.. 100% agree with that. Nothing shows up the real priorities of a restoration like a bit of use. Low priority stuff first, as running to get a Sunday paper might become an all day event if the fuel pump packs up for example, then more advanced stuff, such as B&Q at the weekend. BTW, volunteering to get the milk/bread/shopping etc goes a long way in brownie points until she susses you're actually REALLY doing a test drive!
