Has anybody fitted central locking to their car? If so, was it bought as a kit or liberated from a donor vehicle?

One or two have and kits were onc available to do them on any car with compatible locks- its easier with Coupes as they have the so called "modern" locks.
Actually central locking is the one thing I do miss with old cars but then again unless you have a saloon with its worn locks and self locking tendencies its so much more reliable

I fitted a universal/generic type kit to my p5b coupe . The rear doors were straight forward as the actuators clamped directly onto the existing rod from the interior door lock button. The front doors required removing the door lock assembly from the door and silver soldering a small additonal tag with a small hole in it for the link from the actuator to connect to as the actuator needs to operate in a vertical plane. The routing of the wiring etc was straight forward.
