Not too sure you can land a spitfire anywhere near Henley. White Waltham would be the nearest airfield, then cab it back to Henley, or make a start at Windsor Castle. Roger, over and out!

Hi Cyf,
I work nearby and stay in a place called The Bird in hand. It's on the A4 (Bath Road) and close enough to White Waltham or Henley and recently priced I think.
I've stayed in most local places there and I've been happy at the above for the last 4 years on average at least 2 nights a week.
I can PM details and web site if it helps.

Hi Barry
I would be happy if you PM me
Steve, don't worry, we removed the wings... but kept the Merlin under the bonnet!

Marlow is worth a visit - 15 minutes drive from Henley, and a beautiful riverside town with suspension bridge (I live here so am biased!). It's worth visiting Cliveden or Danesfield House - both are beautiful hotels (Cliveden is also National Trust and has lovely gardens) and both do great afternoon teas!

Glad you enjoyed it but sunny weather and 3 consecutive days running is not the norm for an English summer! Might just make 3 days in total some years

Hey Cyf so sorry I forgot to pm over the details.
I've been away myself so it slipped my mind.
Glad you enjoyed the great weather we are having!

Nevermind Barry. We had good time On the way to Henley we stopped at a classic car show and we saw police Rovers The SD1 was the one which filmed the other police SD1 in the liver run, with the inboard camera Talking about liver... I was a little bit sober than the Spitfire
