Does anybody know the minimum fuel flow rate on a P5B. I.E Litres per min.

Thanks for the reply Steve.
I have a facet fuel pump fitted.I was wondering wether the pump has lost any of its efficiency as some debris has passed through it. The filter has been cleaned.

You could test it. •Flow Rate for the Facet SS500 pump ( smallest) is 25 US Gallons per Hour but you may need many buckets to collect this amount of fuel. So converting this should be 1.5 Litre per minute , that is 25 Gallons = 94.6 Litres divided by 60 (minutes) = 1.5 Litres per minute. That's with the hose off pumping into a reservoir at 12Volts supply. That is plenty for your rover at full speed under load in fact it's .4 gallons a minute, that's more than a range rover could consume, probably.

My pump was purchased from JRW It has no description relating to output.
At the present time I am getting 900ml @ 1min I am wondering if that is a tad low.(150ml per 10 secs)
What do think?

Well, comparing with Facets smallest pump the that is 1/3 down on flow . Whether that is enough to keep your rover supplied at speed is difficult to say but easing off the throttle for a few seconds should allow the fuel flow to catch up and fill the carb float chambers, if this is not the case then look elsewhere for your rovers fault.I have fitted many solid state pumps to industrial diesel engines and although never having measured a new pumps flow, comparing with the same amount of water coming from a water tap I'd say it is defective or pipes restricted. What symptoms does your car have exactly?

There is a previous thread on loss of power. Superb tickover some revs at standstill. Slight gradient no power.
I have just ordered another pump through Rimmers.. There is a noisy tappet issue which will be dealt with.
Depending how far I go it might also be unleaded heads. That fuel additive is B----y expensive

I have the smallest 1.5 to 4psi 40104 Facet and it keeps up with my lump you don't want loads of pressure otherwise the float chambers will flood as the needle shut off valves can't cope. The figures you have given come to 12 gph? which is half the amount the one I have pumps but don't forget it's a Spill system!

I would fit the new pump and test the flow rate for comparison before going any further. Good luck.
