Hi all. Has anyone fitted a different interior? I've just seen a Overfinch p5b on eBay that had Jaguar x type seats f&r fitted. Looked neat. Any ideas as mine is tatty and to retrain to original very expensive. Cheers

Hi len ., if your thinking of a similar style interior then to be honest i would keep the originals either recovered or replacement. I am going for something completely different but im keeping this under my hat for a while until i am in a position to show you guys what im up to.

Thanks for reply, I'm thinking of replacing all interior. The car will be a hot rod and I've many other things to do as well. The cost of recovering the front seats is high when I can get a full jag interior for £100 on ebay. I see you're on here quite a bit, don't suppose you've fitted electric front windows have you?
Cheers

Yes i can see the cost is an issue but if its going to similar to the original then its best to keep it original. Now if you want different then.......... Not fitted any aftermarket electric windows myself but im sure there must be a few on here that have, there maybe someone along in a minute. Good luck with the project keep us informed Woz

I have seen one fitted with rolls Royce seats and it actually looked really good, I think any seats that you fit should at least be plastic free! nothing worse than big horrible plastic mouldings on the sides of the seats, just doesn't look right in a rover.

I was thinking of installing range rover leather front seats and then having them recovered to match the original P5b rear seats colour/pattern as I wasn't sure if the rear RR seats would fit. Then low and behold about 4 plus months ago there was a P5B for sale on ebay that had done the swap of the complete interior seats (front and back), so the rear range rover seats can be made to fit as well. I recognised them immediately as I'd been looking at range rover interiors for a couple of months.
I was originally attracted to the electric front seats of the RR but be careful which ones you get if you go this way. Avoid the memory versions as these appear from the workshop wiring diagram to be wired into the computer in the range rover dash, which also controls the memory for the steering wheel position/adjustment as well. Probably best to go for the simple electric back, forward, up and down versions and avoid anything too complicated unless you are a magician with electrics (and you'll need a range rover electrical manual for the wiring diagrams).
However, getting the RR front seats recoverd to match the pattern on the P5 rear seats was prohibitively expensive so I will go down the more straightforward recovering of the standard P5B seats.
Probably a "simpler" conversion if you can use a complete range rover leather interior in good condition. A number come with contrasting colour piping, which I quite like and, depending upon how much work there is to actually fit them, they do seem available on ebay for 150 to 350 quid with doors cards and other trim as well, which may be made to fit.
You will probably also need to make sure the seat mountings/bases/electrical connections etc are included as these are probably not considered relevant for doing a straight interior replacement into the same car model, but would be required if you are putting them in a different car.

I think a volvo s60 interior may fit, could be modified to suit to some degree in my opinion.
Most of them are leather and very comfy.
