Hi all, just starting a thread on the project I'm setting out on. Hopefully it keeps me on task! 1968 P5B Sedan, BRG. Currently dead stock as far as I can tell, apart from velour covering on the seats. 3.5 and BW35. Planned changes; - Have Discovery FI 3.9 and ZF4HP22 to go in. Debating whether I'll give it a serious once-over first, but most likely will get a fresh set of lifters and gaskets, a clean, and maybe powdercoat the rocker covers. Will have a Jag tailshaft on the tranny. Debating going Jurid joints on the tranny end of the driveshaft.
- Full bush replacement both ends
- Upgrade front calipers and rotors
- Reupholster and interior. May change front seats for modern electric seats, recovered in period materials. Possibly not, as "chief stylist" likes the originals.
- Central locking and alarm
- AC
- Hidden modern stereo, original radio as the controller, or a screen mounted to the picnic table that can hide away.
- Cruise control
- Serious NVH and wind noise treatment
- Rewire
- Xenon headlights and driving lights
- Upgraded radiator, electric fan, secondary pump.
- Upgraded alternator
- Superlite 16 X 7s
- Slight suspension drop
- Down stream I'll probably go to extractors and a freer-breathing exhaust (a bit of a shame, as it has a brand new one, but only slightly bigger than a garden hose).
Possibles
- geometry change on front top A-arms
- Ford 9" rear with disks
- 120mm PCD conversion
- If Wozzer's airbag job works well, possibly following suit.
Some photos to show the starting point.

No set timeframe. Road legal first, then the motor and trans. Then work through the rest when the domestic CFO isn't looking in my direction.

Started looking at the possibility of electrifying the window-winders, while keeping the look and function of the manuals. Possible, but challenging. Well down the list, as the originals are fine, particularly if the AC is installed!
For those that haven't guessed, I'm an inveterate tinkerer and self-taught mechatronics nut.
