Hi all. Does anyone know of/used Shell V power unleaded petrol in their vehicle, without engine 'mods'. I have spoken to someone that does, rather than use an additive. Will this cause them a long term problem? Thanks

Additives not needed and I have run 1000's miles for years on unleaded regular with 3 deg advance. E10 petrol may need an additive however. Longterm unleaded additives causes more problems than it may be thought it resolves

I only use super unleaded and try to stick to premium brands, otherwise she 'pinks' My timing is set to 3 degrees BTDC. I tried additives and it made an awful mess of the spark plugs. I go to Scotland, up the motorway, each year at a good 70 with (so far) no problems.

Thanks for the advice on this and interesting reading too guy's Andy I Run my 71 coupe on nothing but BP 97 no additives. I have a friend in the MGTC club who wrote an article about it. Other 97 is ok but that's what I go for.
