Fred (George's companion) is a 1964 model year P5 3 Litre Mk II sedan, registered, insured and ready for work. An ex-Flynn car with a reasonably established history (the original service booklet is still with the car, and I have pieced together much of the record since its original sale the the NSW Department of Railways), I have had a potentially fatal gearbox leak addressed, front suspension bushes replaced, engine, gearbox and rear hanger mounts replaced, the exhaust manifold welded, and a new coil and spark plugs today. Fred has provided me with a valuable lesson in diagnostics - I was about to drain the fuel tank, clean the carburettor and flush the fuel lines in an attempt to deal with what I had been told was dodgy fuel. However, the symptoms seem to have largely subsided (touch wood) with a new coil! The lesson was, deal with the simple things first, and pay attention (the rough running was only an issue with a warm engine). Hopefully Fred will do duty as daily transport, and be subject to a progressive interior and exterior tidy. Attachment Deleted

Good to see.
Did you do the work yourself?
I'm waiting on the ones that don't get restored to hit the market, I am looking for later model seats front and rear.
Post some more pics, I'd love to see them.

The gearbox was beyond me, and I took the opportunity to get the things needed for rego attended to at the same time - now we’re mobile I will try to do a few more things myself
