Does the Furflex lean in to the car or lean out to the door when fitting

True Furflex is a round rubber tube that has Coach lacing "Furtex" tape wrapped round it and sewn. As such it sits in the middle. If you like its 2 P shapes back to back.
If yours is the other version which Rover did not use, then it woukld make sense to have to outwards IMHO?

Sorry I cannot seem to make this clear - have you got the type with with a P shaped rubber inside or just the round tube.
The round tube sometimes looks P shaped as its the way it comes out the sewing machine (some is even glued) - whichever way its put on it will lie the way the internal trim backing it pushes.
The other type has true P shaped rubber inside which has to be put so that the rounded side buts up against the door. All my cars have the the original stuff still on although I have replaced half that on the Coupe with new of identical type. My P2 has a mixture of both shapes!
I will see if I can get some pictures posted

Your on your way now Pat when you do the ends which are visible on the centre pillar if you carefully peel back the wool from the rubber about 1/2" cut the rubber tube to that point, cut off the tack strip the same amount then stuff the 1/2" of the wool down the tube hole with a small screwdriver, you will end up with a solid looking end! if it's a saloon of course you don't have to bother

Is that into itself or behind the garnish? I mean the cover. Sometimes called garnish. Not to be confused with Hellmans. ;D
