Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier of zircon blue celly please? Preferably in the Surrey/Sussex area ,or one who does mail order? Thanks Martin

I have used a company based near Dunfermline who will supply via mail order, they have a web site at: www.carpaint.co.ukThey can supply Rover spec cellulose in cans or aerosols, and all the usual paintshop sundries such as thinners and papers. Telephone contact number is 01383 853030, they have no problem in supplying small quantities to the non professional user.

Many thanks for your responses Is cellulose still available to the classic owner then? I don't fancy using 2-pack

Yes many places still stock it locally to here but noone is sure for how long - 2 pack will also be withdrawn anyway. I prefer the cellulose finish but 2 pack is 10 tomes shinier if you like that sort of look and even more durable and chip/scratch resistant but impoosible to blow in repairs without seeing it as its easily done with celly

I used www.carpaint.co.uk and can highly recommend them, they were most helpful and supplied my Arden green in cellulose, excellent match.

I agree with what you say Phil except about 2pack chipping, it chips far easier than any of the other types, in my experience anyway, and good professional sprayers can blow in repairs with it.

I still think 2 pack chips less but then the older cellolose gets the easier it chips. I disagree about the touching in even when buffed up if you look close enough especiallly on a large flattish panel a faint line can be seen - its even more pronounced if the colour match is off because its not the same batch although 2 pack is less prone to fading that celly. Its still best to respray the whole panel or to a convenient line that can be blended in but then I may have not come across a really profficient sprayer? I have never tried it because its poisonous

I guess it's what you get used to I have used both types of paint and prefer 2 pack in saying this there are good and bad paint/hardeners! some makes spray better than others! another advantage is you don't have to wait a long time for it to dry In respect to chipping 2 pack is no worse than cellulose You can blow in 2 pack but you have to use the correct thinners and fade it in properly you cant treat it like cellulose I hear really good reports on the water based system only bad thing is the cost
