question for the informed has the grill badge redish sails or not? my old badge shows signs of redish remains also the Rover Publicity booklet shows a redish colour but a lot I have seen have no colour has the sun demolished it

No - its a guilded finish all over that is not very durable - some owners do the red sails (as on the old enamelled and plastc badges) to make it more cheerful

That's how they should look when new - its really fresh and not red, just how the light is catching it - some have had then reguilded and they look like that for a few months till the brilliance goes off again.
The car has probably long gone but number plates were often swapped round anyway
