Sorry to hear about the elbow The carpets do look excellent John and I appreciate the amount of work that is involved. If you say you would rather make 4 sets of door cards as one set of carpets then it must be a cow son of a job to undertake

Hi Barry thanks on both counts I went back to the same shop to return the spray glue and they had changed the product on the shelf, so I swapped the ones I had bought it worked great problen solved "The problem was some spray glues will not stick to so called rubber backed carpet because the Silicone content breaks down the glue and it just goes to Goooo"

A bit of advice big andy if you stick the Moquette down dont try to pull it up again modern adhesives seem to melt the backing and all you will get if you pull it is the backing and the wool left on the board Back to carpet making

Finally finished the carpets ;D a step nearer to completion loads of pain killers later and I am still not playing tennis I used Coach Lacing for the carpet binding 35 meters of it you can dye it what colour you like! so it says on the suppliers web site I had yellow, red and purple at various stages with different dyes it was down to the colour being more gold than beige so Dylon informed me there is a process I found that works after wasting 4 lots of dyes, you can drop me an email if you want to know Next job is my rear seats and interior lights then thats the interior finished more or less s88.photobucket.com/albums/k163/johnwp5bcoupe/?action=view¤t=P1010258.jpg

It is possible also to refresh the boot trims by cleaning them and applying black upholstery paint - it works very well.
I have found that my rubber floor mat in the boot is beining to disintegrate, not surprising given its age!

I am trying Glenn Freddy the trims were all removed when the boot was sandblasted 10 years ago so new ones for the arches had to be made I have tried to remove some from another car nearly impossible dont know what they used to stick them but it worked well looks like Bitumen

It was theta old fashioned black Bostic - some come off esaily wiothout damage but others can be totally ruined - there seems no half way

Yes the old black 'Bostic' adhesive was very good and long lasting. I can remember putting the Number of it on the old 'Board', but my memory has failed me. I know we used to use this in the Aerospace Industry in the 60/70's, and the first two digits began with either 15.. or 17.. I have probably got all the details up in my loft from those days.
