I was driving along a country lane this morning near to Royal Wooton Basset when I spotted a very sad and lonely looking P5B Coupe in the top field of a farm. I stopped and spoke to the farmer and he said it was his old girl which he had owned for many years. She was a 1972 K plate model in what looked like Silver Birch bodywork and a dark coloured roof or what was left of it anyway.
She had been sat there for many years now he said and IMHOP she was beyond saving. Totally rotton to the core the poor girl was albeit I would say 95% complete. He had a shed full of old tractors too and lorries but it was P5B which caught my eye sat all alone in the muddy field.
A real shame as I gave what was left of her fine lines a gentle pat. Rust in peace old girl I thought as I walked away.

It saddens me when I see similar things wether it's car or another of my passions which is old lorries from any era, there is an old Rover P4 up on the moors near Marsden and it's been there for years. I suspect it is or was someone's project but it will never be done and even worse I dare say the owner has been asked about it over the years and has refused to sell it and now the kindest thing to do is to just let it go to the scrap man now. I will never understand some people and their good intentions

Indeed David. The Rover is too far gone now to be saved IMHOP. The farmer is very old too and showed me his barn full of old classic tractors and trucks. A real Alladins cave hidden away for years.
