Wow! Where was this guy's focus before ramming the SUV? Didn't look like he even attempted any braking.

Disagree, there was smoke coming off the tyres well before it hit, brakes hard on.

Yeah...you're right about the braking. Still...no attempt to swerve left into the emergency/breakdown lane. I'd say just pure panic...locking up the brakes...then the steering is compromised.

The green sign showing routes indicates it was not a motorway so had no emergency lane - the narrow white line just shows the edge of the road. Many motorways in UK are being changed to so-called "Smart" motorways with the hard shoulder becoming running lanes. Furthermore there would be three advance notices of the roundabout starting at 500m and subject to others with better information there might also have been run-down signs showing /// - // - /. Maximum speed would have been 70mph. Good that the Morgan dived to the nearside - imagine the carnage had it been thrown towards the central reservation. Cars you can repair - lives you cant.

At least the car braked in a straight like with all 4 wheels locked, it will certainly need more than a bonnet repair

Problem is that people are too used to modern car systems. We used to use, and I still instinctively do, cadence braking, pumping the pedal hard so as to ensure the brakes do not stay locked up - they have electronics to do it now of course. Gone the same way as double declutching!

If you look closely you can see that the driver of that Morgan was looking DOWN at the time and probably last min dot com looked up before it was toooooooooooooo late. Just goes to show the poor standards of todays drivers on the roads. I see it every day and its shocking.
I hope the poor sods in the car he hit sue him.

the count-down exit signs I gave were in error - they should be back slashes this \\\ - \\ - \ not forward. Shows how much notice of signs I have taken over the years! I wondered who would be the first to spot that ................
