Hello! On issue June 2003, there is a beautiful P5b, registration VXC 368K. I was wondering what colour it is. At first I thought burnt grey over silver birch, but now I'm doubring... It looks more like off white to me! I'm asking since my rover is almost ready for the paint job and i actualy like the mentioned rover very much..
Thanks! Best regards Guus

The is Vicky & Ray's Kendall's Coupe - I am sure its the standard Burnt grey over Rover White. Its not "off" white but a nice pale creamy white. I am sure they can confirm this direct

I wonder whether that car has any history with the factory, as *XC numbers were issued at the Solihul Registration Office, and many cars with similar numbers started life as Rover company vehicles. You can see them in the brochures with them.

It was Vicky's father, they live in W Mids so its really a local car to their family. I am sure they did a write up many years ago in Take 5 as it pre-dated their 2 door Coupe conversion.
More recently someone (not me) noticed the sills are not in the correct satin black!

Ray Kenda'l is the editor for Take Five and Vicki the Rover P5 Club secretary. I am sure they would be happy to discuss teh car should you wish to contact them.

There is the odd possibility its main colour could be 'Silver Birch' rather than 'White'. Prior to 1964 'XC' was used by London C.C. and ended up on London Transport buses of that era. It was allocated to Solihull from 1964 to 1974, so the reg. wouldn't be that unusual, given its a 1971/1972 car.

VXC 368K is Burnt Grey over Rover White with black interior. Supplied to Colliers of Solihull which explains the XC registration letters. Oddly, as far as I know, it did not have the standard satin black/dark grey sills when purchased by my father. Perhaps it was another of the strange anomolies which you come across when you really start to look at these cars, and when we had work done we left them white.

Thank you all! I'm sure I can get the right paintcode for Rover white here in Holland.

I would have thought its possible to get the right colour in Holland. If you want the ICI codes and the constituent colours go to the title subject 'PAINT CODES' and trawl through the P5B colours till you get to right one and then print it out. This sheet you can then take with you as a guide.
