Austin Princesses do and Renault 16's Like the P5 not all models had them through entire production life.
The running board Rovers of the 1930's and 1940's had them as well but not as wide and they were on the running board vertical face

Do not know about the 16 but some more cars of the 60's 70's which had them are the Rolls Royce Shadow 1 and Bentley V-P Princess 4 litre and some Farina Morris Oxfords. Volvo 166, Alvis TF21, Vauxhall VX 4/90 & Ventora (FC Victors) Mk3 Ford Zephyr 6 and Zodiac, Ford Zodiac Executive Mk4. Some Fiats and W German Fords including top of the range Mk1 Capri's. Mk3 Humber Sceptre (Arrow), Opels. There are probably more from the mid 70's eg Mk1 Granada Ghia's?
Quite a few to go at but as with P5B's a lot have long fallen off!

Any reason why you are focusing on sill trims Glenn? Door trim strips are of similar construction on many cars.

Cheers guys.The list is growing.
Oz you are quite right but I have never had anyone request a wing/door trims. The sill trims seem to be the rare ones as they fell off due to their location.

Glenn, some of the 16's had trim along the rear wheel arches, and one model had a short piece of trim on the waist line of the rear side panel.

Ozcoupe - Sill strips are much rarer generally and all are car specific as they are generally one piece (P4 have wide separate ones like the 50'60's Mercedes) and have unique X section and end profiles. In the UK the sills quickly rust away taking the sill strip with.
DF - the Humber Sceptre Mk3 had arch trims as well on them!

Thanks Phil. I hadn't thought of the rust susceptibilty factor with sills.
Glenn,
This is stretching my memory back a bit. The R16 has torsion bar suspension and the bars are L-shaped. They are quite long and overlap across the car, one behind the other. Shorter bars would have prevented the characteristic French long-travel soft suspension of that time. (Like all proper French cars).
This causes the wheelbase on one side to be longer than the other. This has virtually no effect on ride and handling as the difference is not great, and many people never even noticed the visual difference.
The only other option would have been to overlap the bars one above the other. This would have kept the wheelbase the same but would have changed the suspension characteristics for each rear wheel.
Oh, and the other reason is because they're French. (And good on 'em too)

Well OZ, you learn something new each day. Thanks for the explanation.

I knew the French were an odd lot Glenn, this confirms it. Phil, I agree the MK111 Sceptre has wheel arch trims fitted, but they were polished aluminium alloy not stainless steel.
