Hi All,
Still awaiting my P5 so cannot examine. How difficult is it to change the gear selector indicator on the auto transmission. It's just refreshing the selector indicator plate so assume very easy? (probably easier than sourcing one - just got a newish one however in expectation).
(Wadhams did not have any in stock).

Hi gents, I removed the gear knob on my P5B over the weekend and found it held together with what appears to be windscreen sealant. I measured up what I think should be a spacer with the following dimensions: OD 3/4 ID 1/2” UNF By 5/8 long My idea is to glue this into the knob. Is this how the knob is supposed to be put together?

A rubber fits inside the knob and cuts its own thread as it's screwed on to the lever. You can use a suitably sized piece of rubber hose, as that's what the suppliers will sell you if you buy one from them

Mine was all goooey when I took it off and as Harvey says it is just a bit of rubber hose. I did not realise that and paid a lot for a bit of rubber that was not even cut straight !

I also noticed last year at the car shows particularly the very hot days my knob also became floppy and sticky and unresponsive but as things cooled down it became hard and firm again. LOL
