We are about to start the repaint and our (very good) painter has suggested about removing the screens. I had always shyied away beacause I'd heard it was a massive job on the P5B but from consulting the manual, its screwed in! Any expirences from anyone?

Its comparatively easy to get out baring seized screws and rusty clips all of which need replacing anyway. Be very careful and do not bend the chrome staiiless strips as they will never fitTo avoid cracking the screen especially if its lamonated cut the rubber and peel it back. Loads of hardened sealenat will also hold it tight. Unless you are very lucky some of teh surround and even the top of the scuttle will be badly corroded and holed so all this will need sorting.
Refitting is best left to the experts. Its a job that's often badly done even by experts and make sure yoy have a good new rubber and loads of sealant Use SEARCH set to 100 days for more tips.
I have some photos of teh repairs mine needed before the new screen could be refitted
Good luck!
