"Vincent there were two versions of the Rho style rims. One was 5" wide while the second was 5.5" wide. The width of the rim is stamped on the iron hidden inside what the tyre covers. Within these two rim widths, the earliest rims where rivetted together while the latter where welded together. The riveted version is around 25kg each. A friend had them rengineered by a wheel shop from rivet to weld and she'd about 8kg per rim The Firestone tyres I had put on the std 5" rims are the Destination model. These are 205/75 R15 Run at 40 PSI because the profile is so high compared to modern radials. They are designated as SUV tyres. I think they have been discontinued in Australia. I recommend them. They are perfect on the P5." End quote. The 5.5" welded rostyle wheel is 'news' to me.
Can anyone on the forum with specific/verifiable knowledge of the above chime in and clarify the issue relating to rim width of the factory rostyle wheels?

The comment threw me too John! I know the effort and expense you went through restoring your car's rostyles. Also all the Rover P5 literature I have makes no reference to 5.5 width, welded rostyle rims!

I think the Jensen Rostyle was the same as the Rover PCD and 5.5" width.

But I doubt Rubery Owen would change their method of manufacture for the same type of wheel just because it was destined for a different car company.
