Good afternoon everyone, short question for all, has anyone converted the rear suspension rear mount for a shackle setup?

Yes, it has been done, and there were pics on here, but I can't remember the poster's name.

I am going to pick up this thread as I am now seriously considering converting to a spring hanger at the rear end. The last post was from Harvery and he mentioned an old post - that was from Enigmas in 2012 and included photos which are now unreadable. Is it possible to have an update with photos, please. Or indeed hear from anyone who has attempted this since then?
There are Landy conversion parts readily available but it is how to fabricate a satisfactory arrangement to attach to the plain rear leaf of the spring. All ideas welcome.
Parts for a heavy duty mounting for a slider type shackle are also readily available but a suitable stop would somehow have to be attached to the spring end without interfering with the sliding action of the shackle.

A a PS - to make life very much easier to install a sensible conversion one could ask a spring company to produce a top leaf that has a shackle bush at both ends.

I cannot really see the point - the Y bushes work adequately and are easy to replace

These pix might assist you Sam. They're from a collection of images I have from Nodsmods a very talented fabricator who builds race, custom cars and hot rods. The rear leaf spring work is not his as he took over the build on this P5B fitting a Lexus V8, rack and pinion power steering and a complete Jaguar front suspension. The pix show a complete Ford sedan, disc braked rear end fitted to the P5B using rear shackles. The alterations to the P5 monocoque at the rear frame box section is quite straight forward. Simply weld in a suitable steel tube to accomodate shackle bushes. At the rear spring end a mounting steel sleeve and tab has been fabricated that bolts directly to the current Y bush mounting holes on the P5B leaf. This 'particular' shackle bush may have been sectioned off a existing rear leaf spring. That is, simply cut off as a component piece and the appropriate locating holes drilled. * The main consideration is to get the shackle bush fitted/angled at the correct location under normal load (vertical) to allow for the leaf springs movement both forward and aft.

Thank you enigmas, That looks to be simple enough in engineering terms. Excellent suggestion to utilise an old spring; the best way would be to have a top leaf made with and eye at both ends.
I will stick with standard fit for the moment but plan for this modification in due course.
