Hi folks,
Does anyone know where I could get the ignition Yale key cut by number? Sadly the only key in my possession has been lost and I can't find anyone who can cut it by number. I guess I'm lucky that I have the number in the original Rover book, but still can't find anyone to cut it for me.

Most ignition switches are pretty worn out by now, and can be turned with a screwdriver!

Hello Alex, Your local Timpson's should be able to order them, or you can order them online; www.timpson.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=FR835&cat=615I'm surprised you're having trouble most decent locksmiths should be able to cut to a number or you can often find them precut on ebay. Ebay probably the cheapest option £2.99 & 80p postage. Cheers Peter

If you post the number and are very lucky someone might have one, but very rare keys. could also try David Green www.davidgreen-p5.co.uk/

Thanks for your replies guys, sorry I've been away all day and removed the ignition lock with coil - not the easiest of jobs. If you post the number and are very lucky someone might have one, but very rare keys. could also try David Green www.davidgreen-p5.co.uk/Key number is RCL832 I've spoken to David Green who is looking into it - I'm waiting for him to come back to me. Thanks John, I'll try him in the morning. Links 2 and 3 I think are the same company. Already emailed them and they can't help. I'll try Bournemouth car keys in the morning. It looks like I will have to send the lock away for a locksmith to cut a key to it.

Thanks for all your help guys, I took the whole thing, complete with armoured cable and coil, to one of my local locksmiths, the guy was very helpful and, like me, was old enough to remember these cars. After a little fiddling around to work out which was the correct blank, I left it with them and within half an hour had called me back to say it was done...yeah!!!...so I'll go back to collect it tomorrow.
