Has anyone developed a list of the Lucas part numbers for the various dashboard switches. I did a search in the P5 and P5B Electrical sub-forums but did not see anything.

Not that I am aware of. All but one are only used on P5s/P5Bs and Mk1s are different

Actually, I was parting out a P6 2000 years ago, and kept the dash switches. The only difference between those and the P5 ones were the actual toggle bit. I was able to swap the P5b toggles onto the P6 switches by pushing out the pivot pins. Just FYI. Btw, just reread what I wrote, and it wasn’t 2000 years ago! It was an original P6.

I have found out one part number which may be of interest to others Lucas part number 78416 is for the rheostat switch that is either for the variable speed for the windscreen wipers or the dimming function for the panel lights. These switches are very similar, but they differ in terms of the width of the rheostat winding. The size of the winding will determine the maximum resistance of the rheostat. The other switch (part number to be determined) has a wider winding which is almost the full width of the ceramic insulator The second part number I found is Lucas 34562. This is a three position switch which is described as a lighting switch and I believe it is for the parking light / off / both side lights positions. More research to follow

The wiper rheostat must not have the "off" position that the panel light switch does. The panel dimmer is not much use anyway epecially if leds are used so may as well use the standard Lucas On/Off

That is a good reference list. Thank you It gets confusing with the multiple part numbers Lucas assigned over time to the same switch.

Both halves are the same? PS the main light switch equivalent will not have the one-side park function without modification

Interestingly my light on/off/Park switch overheated with lights going off, last weekend on my trip home. I have a new one ordered, a lucas replacement number. Looks like the one on a known suppliers sight. I'll try to come back here if it's right when it arrives.

The light switch really needs a relay to reduce the load. Make sure the Lucar terminals are tight as if slack they will overheat again
