I bought some of the old style ignition leads that fit into a side entry distributor cap. Can any advise on how to deal with the ends of the cable that fit into the holes in the distributor cap? Do the pointed screws just penetrate the insulation of the wires, or is it necessary to fit some type of crimped brass connector to the wires before inserting into the distributor cap?

I believe they just penetrate into the wires. Be sure you push the wires all the way in though.
