Well, my first car auction, a bit of wine and I seem to have won a P5B coupe.
This is my first (and hopefully last) classic. To say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement. It's in Plymouth and I'm in Bolton so it's time to get transport, insurance and storage in place.
Insurance quotes are fine - in fact very good and I have a potential storage in a locked building. Any recommendations for (preferably covered) transport?
Also, is it worth joining the P5B owner's club or is that something I can leave for a few weeks and just pick people's brains as and when I need (which will be a lot).

Well done - show us some pics.
Good idea to join the P5OC as discounts available for classic car insurance which often require club membership and other stuff
Loads of tips on here but a Workshop manual is essential for any work whether done by yourself or your garage

Is anyone based around the Bolton, Chorley and surrounding areas? With my first foray into classic ownership and my dream car arriving on Saturday it would be brilliant to meet up and pick brains over the next few months.

I've had mine 5 years and wouldn't be without it now

Regarding the previous remark about a workshop manual, a parts manual is just as useful, if not more so.
Welcome. Looks very nice. Bolton is my 'home town' but many years now in Sussex.

It's arrived - it's everything I dreamt it would be.
Needs very little.
More pictures and thoughts later.

First proper drive - weather sadly was a bit rubbish. She drives really well, but there was standing water on a lot of the roads in the North West so a rather curtailed day. Cleaned and dried off before settling down for a well deserved rest in secure dry storage. Attachment DeletedJames
