Parts catalogue 608264 p1818 shows item 12 - special pin 352922 and split pin 2422. Can anyone source these? Would an M6 nut bolt perhaps with 2 thin fibre washers do the same?

I would use (and have used) any small bolt and nut with a snug fit through the strap. Obviously, try to avoid one with a massive head! Only the most pedantic anorak on the spectrum would notice that the correct pin & split pin were not being used for this application which is only visible when the door is wide open!! I have a door strap in front of me and the pin hole is 1/4" imperial or about 6.50 mm's.

For now I have used 5.5 1.2mm nut n bolt with washers for now but it seems loose and the bolt head too small. I think it will still wear the hole bigger which is why I posed the Q. I found a split pin on the ground nearby which I guess I could widen wider again but looks risky without a head Thanks.

These 'special pins' are actually common clevis pins, pennies each on ebay, just select the correct size, say 5mm, and length. Use a split pin to secure.
