Hi, is there a correct way to remove the tool and picnic tray from under the dash on a Coupe. I've searched the workshop manual but there is no mention of it. Mine has got stuck in place and the lever arm just flops about. I can't see how to move it.

If the lever has gone floppy then the little clips/bushes have probably broken up. Just pull firmly on the tray & it will come out

It could be that the lid is raised and has gone the wrong side of the mechanism, again with the lever pressed down just pull. When putting the tray back always press down on the lid to keep it down.

I doubt it'd be a good idea to just pull the tray! There is a little tongue at the back that prevents the tray from sliding out completely without pushing down on the lever. It's the lever that lifts the tongue which, otherwise, sits on the tray lid and against the tray frame.
That said, use a little cloth and a flat screwdriver, insert it in the middle of the tray until you feel the tongue, then gently push it up and the tray will come free.
