Hi, I’m finally getting around to replacing the SD1 engine in my 1972 P5B coupe with the correct 84xxxx series. Without being too fussy about it, I do want the vehicle to be ‘correct’ and am willing to accept that the later engine is better. It had to come out anyway, as the core plugs were rotten. The only problem is the oil pump- what I believe is the correct oil pump only has a port for the pressure switch, nothing for the sender. I have failed to find anywhere (including the factory workshop manual, parts book and hours on Google!) which has a picture or diagram of the correct setup. The gauge and wiring exist, of course. Is anyone able to help with pictures of the pump/area to show the sender, etc., please? Thanks, Andy.

Fabricate a double adaptor (for both senders) if only one port is available on the pump. If it's a Saloon AFAIK there's only an indicator light for oil pressure. If it's a Coupe you have both a gauge and indicator light. Shops that sell hydraulic pressure fittings is the place to find the components you want. Companies such as ENZED in OZ, I have no idea what exists in the UK. www.enzed.com.au/Product-Range

A "T" fitting, usually brass of the correct size can be screwed into the port for the idiot light to provide a place to fasten the gauge attachment. On our side of the pond, these can be purchased at almost any autoparts store.
