The Rover is doing well mid position and 3rd in class Considering these two guys are 74 and 75 years old on a limited budget and beating a lot of sponsored cars with unlimited funds! If I had one I would take my hat off to them RALLY P5B

Good for them ! and it shows that classic cars are far more reliable than some imagine. I read, in a magazine, a Jaguar owner stating that he never goes on motorways in case it breaks down. I would imagine that a well maintained classic is possibly more reliable than a chip filled Eurobox, after all, all you need is a spark and off she goes.

I'm assuming that the Jag in question is a newer model. I've taken my '62 E-Type all over the western US with no problems that I couldn't fix myself.

David California I think that it was something like a Mk2. Perhaps the owner was not mechanically minded and unable to fix it. I recently bought a Morris Minor, after doing quite a lot to it I thought a trip from sussex to Devon would be a good idea, about 150 miles. I set off and she hesitated a few times, I should have gone home but kept on in the hope that she would get better ! At Winchester she konked out and I went home on a flat bed, as I had no spares or tools with me. I diagnosed 'coil' which was correct and she is better. I now have spares and tools in the boot and could hopefully fix her in minutes. This has not put me off and I plan to take her to Scotland in September. I am leaving on a Friday, so the motorway will be busy and slow, which will suit the Morris ! The Morris Minor was the first British car to sell over a million.

How about making a few short videos of your road trip to Scotland in the Morris George. Nothing elaborate, just various bits of road, scenery and traffic along the way. It may very well be as close as an antipodean like me will ever get to Scotland. 😉

Working wipers are always interesting... Mine have been a constant source of fascination to me for decades... Seriously, I would value seeing the start, run and park of your wipers.

A quick heads up on Winston's Wiper's Mike. They're fine and work and park as they should. You're binnacle switch may be cactus/dying if you recall our conversation at the time Winston was receiving some overdue TLC 👍. Otherwise...Alles ist gut.
