Newbie - P5B Coupe 12th August 1970

Good day all

Very very pleased and excited to now be able to say that I am the 1st time proud owner of a Coupe.
I am Paddy, Live in Lincoln City, Lincolnshire and am a bit of a petrol head.
This joins a small collection of cars I own including a 1965 Mustang 350GTH, 2007 Audi RS4B7, 2017 Honda NSX and a Mk1 Eunos MX5.
I have a lot of questions as you can imagine hah.

I have listed and wanted to own a P5B Coupe for as long as I can remember and actually share a birthday with the car I have just acquired through a Bonham's Auction.  We are literally the same age.

Am I allowed to share links here ?  Here is a link anyway.  Perhaps there are previous owners on here that know this car?

Just for starters, I would love to know of any nearby owners as well as any recommendations for where I can potentially have the car taken care of as far as servicing or any mechanical matters are concerned.

Also would be great if you could give me an idea of a list of items I should check on the car or perhaps there is an already written pinned post somewhere on here?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your acquisition a beautiful looking coupe...so please post some images and text here as the Bonhom's site is a seeming nightmare of interference and hype whilst I was simply trying in vain to read the text and view the images of your car.

I believe that you'll find this forum an invaluable resource with regard to both maintaining and sharing your experiences with the Coupe.

Hope all the many issues have been sorted. Very checquered MOT history. Good luck anyway.

Looks like a lovely car, there are always odds and ends to improve or repair and as Vince has said, there is a wealth of experience here. Seems like previous owners have invested heavily so it must be pretty sound.

Yes a long list which I will be exploring but most of it if not all was done early this year

Thank you, I think it is but like you say, there are always things to work on.  For example petrol is spilling out of the petrol cap when I drive it.  Bloody stinks, so must need a new cap/seal ?
