???HI guys, anyone who can assist a poor italian struggling with a P5 MkIII overdrive ? original overdrive with the car was not working, therefore I got 1 spare thru david green, but found our the outer case to be different. the original has 4 studs and a bracket to attach it to the car, while the "new" o/d is missing the 4 studs and has a sort of ring (where probably attaches to the chassis thru a bush) It shows 2 "110" marks on the top edge ( might it be a P4 item?) I checked both operation and spare parts manual to see if so dramatically different o/ds were used but did not find any clue I am wondering whether is possible to swap the internal components of overdrive reusing the original case. anyone never attempted to do this ? would welcome any suggestions/comments thks in advance to everybody willing to share headscratchings...

Hi Panardo, I have fitted several O/D's & G/boxes [including one from a P4 95] to my Mk3 over the years and apart from the difficulty in lining up the male/female drive shaft components, {remove the drive plate from the output shaft}, have had no problem.
There are 6 bolts that hold the O/D to the G/b. A bracket to which is welded a tube is bolted under the gear box at the point where it passes over the cross memeber. A bracket is bolted to the cross member which lines up with the tube.
The tube has a bush in the centre and it's hight is adjusted with metal shims. (I used cut down P5 door hinges).
The service manual [an essential purchase .. look on Ebay but make sure it coveres the Mk3] shows this. Hope this helps Rgds Darryl
