I had to replace the rocker shaft oil seal -- above the circlip which is above the drop arm. As soon as I had bled the PS system the seal ring inside the end cover started leaking, which it had previously not done. I have a new seal for this from a club member.
My question is this: The tiny pin hole in the bearing housing at the front of the box (2.1/8inch diameter) is now also leaking. Is this pin hole leak a result of the car not being used three/four months, and will it clear up when used? Or must the whole box have a kit installed? I think I can replace the end cover seal ring, but to do the whole kit -- according to my manual (dated 1960) -- sounds beyond what I feel I can tackle. I appreciate your advice. Thank you.
