Hi guys, has anyone on the board experienced any trouble removing and replacing the centre bearing (front flange seized on shaft). Also does anyone know the appropriate bearing specs (not the Rover part number) as I want to purchase one from a bearing supplier prior to removing mine.

Hello out there... it's very quiet on the western front! Anyone have any knowledge on this matter? ~ Vince

I have never had any trouble with these - they easily outlast the cars so over here there are plenty of s/h ones. Its very likely to be standard stock as Rover did not make the drive shaft - whether its still available here or over there who knows!

Thanks Phil, mine has been on the vehicle since 1966 and I'm wondering what the miracle lubricant was packed into the bearing when it was manufactured. I generally like to replace these things when I get the opportunity, but if I recall correctly the flange stated to bend on the shaft when I tried to remove it 15 or so years ago.
