Hey Richard car looks great if you put an entre in after each picture if forces the picture down to the next line this gives the effect of putting the pictures one under each other rather than the wide format you are using. This can make them easier to view You can modifie your existing posts or deleate and repost

Thanks Tom & Dave this makes it easier to enjoy the fine pictures without unnecessary scrolling from left to right. I am certainly enjoying seeing pictures of others cars as it makes the Rover World smaller if you have images as well as words
Regards ;D

Thanks for the kind comments :)My bosoms are fair swelling with pride!! These pictures were taken in June 2002 since when I have covered 288 miles. It's all getting a bit silly really but the car has not been garaged at my house for over 3 years as we extended our living space into the former garage. This is the main, but not the only reason why I use it so infrequently. In fact, I have not yet renewed the MOT which ran out in Jan. Unfortunately,my wife has no time for this car and has no interest in it!! I don't know if this is common amongst other contributors but it does'nt help when your partner won't even get in your classic car does it? Bit of a sob story really and I would appreciate no obvious responses about getting a more classic car orientated partner!! I must admit,I do envy you people who actually use your cars!! So why does your wife not like it Richard ? Does she consider it a waste of money, or maybe resents the time you spend with it (not a lot by the looks of it) or does she want you to buy a Mazda MX5 or something ? Or does she want you to spend more time together ?
Although my wife is indifferent towards it, she will happily clean and vacuum the interior while I do something else. She won't wash it because she can't reach the roof, she is only 5'.
You have to be careful or you end up giving up all the things you like, and then its downhill all the way to the crematorium, via the garden center.........and the craft shop.

The minister for home affairs around my place has no time for the P5 either. She thinks it’s too big or some mad thing like that. That said she loves going on the club outings but would prefer if I used the “Old One “as she calls it. To be honest I think she just glad I spend my time and money down the garage than down the pub. You could always try going down to the garden center and the craft shop in the Rover?

;D My fair Lady won't hear of me trying to give up or sell our P5B (I say 'our' but really it's MINE!). Her Ladyship has never even cleaned the car with me but she is happy to be chauffered around in it and she giggles when the folk in the street gawp at the car as we roll gently along!. Nothing wrong in taking what little pleasure there is in CLASSIC car ownership, beside being a proud owner/driver.

Well I must say that mine is happy with all my different classics. Both of us get out every weekend to a rally or show somewhere, and she likes to meet old friends and make new ones. This year we will be out on a classic weekend, for the Tavistock Steam Fair.
The only time it puts the fear of Christ up her is when I decide to take two cars and she has to drive one of them. Perhaps all this stems from her early days of being a motorcycle fanatic.
An interesting aside was last July at Classics on the Common. We had just parked up after a 150 mile drive, when a lady came up and said she recognised her from the biking days all of over fifty years ago.

Thanks for the responses. The main problem is that my wife has an eye for some classics but unfortunately not Rovers!! She actually hates the attention given to it on the extremely rare occasions, in recent years, that she has travelled in it. I think it is fair to say that it is quite a head turner. The car came with me when we married and was used quite a lot as a main car prior to 1987 when we moved to Cornwall with my job. If, in the future,we again move to a house with a double garage,I am sure that the car will get more use. I glad to know,John, that you get so much enjoyment with your cars and long may that continue. If I make it to Powderham this year,I will see you there. In fact the Powderham rally last year was the last outing the car had as I had to take it off the road to rebuild the siezed calipers (another consequence of not enough useage) Richard

Yes it does give some credence to the saying 'if you use it you'll lose it'

Very nice photos, and I have never seen a no plate with the GB incorporated on it.

Hi Richard, think I have told you before but your p5 Is a real stunner. As for the wife,I very quickly realised that the only way my wife would be going anywhere In the car was If we were to stay In a hotel or guest house so for four Of the rallies over the year I book a nice place for us and the kids to stay, that way she Is getting something out of the deal. !!!

:-/Oh dear without wife's support I could not run my cars and I know of numerous other unfortuantes who have tried and failed.
Richard is lucky his car came before his marrage - my wifes classic Mini did in her case and she has still got it. It was her first car on passing her driving test and she had it 33 years now.
