Hi all. Well she's started to have her paintwork done. A water based paint was used with a two pack lacquer used on top. I must say it does look fantastic. The roof has been done, plus the shuts, scuttle, rear tonneau. I will have the sill painted black but not sure whether to use a matt black or satin finish. Should look nice with the new sill trim(s)! The rest of the panels will be done later. I will post more on my website in the next 48 hrs.

Yes I agree use Satin or Semi-matt black. A good one to get is 'SPEREX'. They come in large cans have a good spray pattern and cover very quickly. They also do high temp paints in various colours as well. Any good motor accessory shop will stock these.

Thanks. Must make sure I ask for SPEREX and not DUREX. I shall do that.

In the front of the official Rover workshop manual which lists the differencesof the V8 model, it states "satin black".
Get the painters to do it with a gun, you can't get enough paint on, or a really good finish with an aerosol.
And besides, if you do it yourself it would be a shame to paint over those nice new sill trims !
