I agree, what a super job. I like the colour scheme too, a very modern approach without going over the top. A set of sill trims, and the waist and roof lining would finish it off nicely. Looks also that it is a two door coupe , and a nice touch to get rid of the door handle and make it semi-flush. I would be forever worrying that someone would re-design the front end each time I went out as it is very vunerable to the slightest touch. Shame there isn't any more pics of it from different angles.

If only he knew about the sill trims Interesting to see the P5 in a different guise with no wing indicators at the front.

Well I think the colour is hideous, as is the door mirror. I dont think bright red suits the P5 at all.......

This Rover was drag raced extensively in the 80s until it was retired for show work and the odd burn out competition. Originally it was a street car that got smashed after the accelerator got stuck after some exuberant driving around a roundabout in london. It was rebuilt with a tubular front end and a bigger engine. The owners name is Winston. Well known in the drag racing fraternity.. I'll get a couple more pics on here when I can remember my imagecave password!

The picture of this car had been bugging me all day, I had seen it at show last year in Bromley, and remembered I took this photo!

Do you know what engine it is ? It looks like a Ford 351 Cleveland from what I can see.

Matt, you'll have to ask someone on the Saab forum. The missing pictures were not supplied by anyone who reads this forum.

If you like that - wait until mine is finished Fully detailed 5 lt Chevy TPI/700R4 in a detailed engine bay Airbagged Jag Front end, bagged Ford 9" rear Full auto control of lift (dakota digital controller) De-chromed (some) and shaved handles FULL custom interior.... and I mean FULL as in custom dash etc. Very suble colour scheme - Aston Martin Meteorite Silver. 17 x 7 215/50 front 18 x 8 255/45 rear. + many other small but subtle touches (like re-radiused wheel arches to fit wheels better). The idea being that at a first glance it looks stock(ish) but on closer inspection........ kind of if they made a P5B now, to the original standards - what would they put in it, how would it look? Don't hold your breath's though - I dont expect it to be done all that soon..... its a big and expensive job. All courtesy of Burnham Auto's (one of the best rod builders in the country). Looks like someone's randy auntie at a wedding in a red PVC mini-dress. You know, the one who's had a few too many glasses of fizz and comes up and pinches your bum. Seriously though, not against customs in general, but that to me looks plain wrong. Colour's too bright and that hideous bonnet scoop. Gotta be more subtle with a P5B; more Q-car than kit-car. BTW, did anyone see the equally in-yer-face P4 on the same site?

I remember them from Crayford. They used to have the rear end of a Ford Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac mark 2 sticking out of the wall, but that was back in the early/mid eighties.

Yup - it was that car (and a Ford Pilot they did - California Dreaming) that made me pick them. Very resto-rod - not too many (obvious) body mods, but LOTS of detail (if you knew where to look). That P4 is a wonderful car... not so keen on the colour, but then I don't really like red in anything except italian cars
