Hi, Two questions in one,
My friend owns a *1966* 3 Litre ,he wants me to convert it to negative earth,so that I can fit a 123 electronic distributor to it ,The distributor has no points condensor weights or springs.
My questions are, has anybody fitted one of these distributors?,and are anyother of the electrical components polarity sensitive? ,IE fuel pump, wiper motor, clock etc?
Sorry that should be *1965 'B' reg*
Many Thanks, Simon

I assume its one of the last Mk2 run-outs as Mk3 were -ve.
The only thing that needs swapping is the radio. The dynamo needs repolarising often by just flashing the small terminal F with the live cable and the coil connections swapping over. The clock, gauges heater fan and wipers will all run the correct way (sone heater fans may need the connexions swapping .
The fuel pump may be if its been modernised or has a diode
The battery will have to be turned round unless the cable clamps are swapped as these are diferent sizes
Never fitted a 123 dizzy just make sure the drive is identical or change it from the old one but becareful as the nylon drive bush may disintegrate

Ps - I forgot - the Ammeter connections also need reversing. Why do you want to change the dizzy - the set up is quite reliable. Others have fitted Pertronics inside which is supposed to be very good
