My Coupe failed it's MOT yesterday on a worn shock absorber (could have been a lot worse).
My local garage who source most things were unable to get one from their suppliers and Ray Weekly was unable to suppy and states they are now getting scarce. I haven't as yet been able to get through to Jon Wadhams.
Is there a shortage of shock absorbers ? Do the club need to look into it or are there plenty and I'm looking in the wrong place?

It depends how much money you want to spend. They are available new from Gaz shocks and Spax. I would imagine the other suppliers such as roverpart and wadhams have them?

I had not heard of any shortage - they turn up at Autojumbles occasionally perhaps it may be worth keeping some in stock - 3 litre fronts are different to 3.5 but the backs are the same but then gas adjustables are better for the bak anyway

Hi - parts book shows rear shock absorbers for the 3-litre Mk1 to be different to later Mk1A, 2 and 3. What chance of 1971 P5Bs being suitable for my Mk1?

A good chance but I have not inspected a Mk1 set-up
