Hi My Dad recently passed away and i am trying to keep his Rover P5 on the road as he has owned it for more than 30 years. As it has stood the tyres have gone soft!
Could anyone tell me what the tyre pressures should be? I believe he told me once they were Radial Tyres (not X Ply).
Also i want to add some antifreeze/coolant as she runs hot, Do I use normal coolant?
Any help would be much appreciated! Brigitte.

Hi
For the P5B with the V8 engine, I think the recommended pressures are 26psi for all tyres. the 3 litre must have different front pressures (due to the heavier engine). May be Phil can help.
Cheers.

If its on radials I use 30-32 Ilbs. The recommended pressures are actually the same as the V8's ie 26 for X plies

BTW It does use normal coolant/antifreeze mixture wich you can buy reday mixed or dilute yourself.
If its really is running hot - I notice the extra large manifold heatshield it could be ready for tuning up eg ignition resetting, the sender/satbilser could be faulty or the block/rad silted up. Flushing may cure the latter otherwise a recored rad may be needed.
Your late fathers car is very nice and I do hope you can keep it running in memory of him.
