REVISED INSTRUCTIONS • All pictures should be jpeg files. • You need a personal web space to do this (usually included FREE) - check with your internet provider. Make the file name of the picture short eg. a.jpg For this excercise assume your 'name' is ROVER and you wish to upload a file named a.jpg Copy picture to your personal webiste e.g. ROVER@ftp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk Click the image link icon, second row fourth from left. Replace the 'URL' text with your own personal link with the filename and jpg at the end. e.g. www.ROVER.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/a.jpg[/img]When your message is complete, click 'preview' to check the link works. If it does click 'Post'. Your picture should now be on view! Techy Tom

72er, all you need is web space, which is usually free when you create an email adrress with your server. Your web space is just a that, space so there's no need to create your own site.
Hope this helps

2 queries: I have not got round to setting up a personal Web page as I could not see the point of it - is this one of the points? What are they for apart from a personal Ads? Why when opening this Board can I NEVER log in first time as there is nowhere to do it? I have to relply get the warning "Guests cannot respond" or something like it then a Log in box appears which I enter then "error" appears only then does a box near the top appear which I can then log in properly first time. Is this why so many cannot be bothered with it? Nice snow flakes ;D

As some appear to be having problems with registration, the site has now been set up so everyone can reply without going through the password/registration process.
Simply click on the subject to respond.
Phil, if you wish to regsiter follow this: OPTION 1 Below the title (banner) wiith the picture of Rovers you will see some small blue buttons (icons) from the left count three along and click on the third icon. This will bring up the password box. Type in your password and enter.
OPTION 2. Below the blue icons are the 'adverts'. Below this and to the right are the two boxes. Type your details in to these and log on. To check if you are logged in you will see the last blue icon should state 'log out'.

www.imagecave.com/This site offers a free 10mb of space to load pictures to. so you can link to them from othersites. this might be what some people need if there own web host company is too complicated for them. It atually appeared in a google advt on the main page so I clicked in for a look. seems user friendly and for exactly this purpose. maybee tom or dave could have a play or if you wish I will and write a set of simple instructions to use this service. In conjunction with this board UPDATE I have visited imagecave and created Registered an account very easy. then I loged in and using its very easy to use interface where you browse and upload I put an image in my album and was then presented with a quick link that included the " " tags I cut and pasted it here and here is my test image I hope this helps some users Regards

Thanks Alan, the picture situation was becoming a bit of a headache for those unfamiliar with uploading. Can we point any queries on this subject in your direction?

I will go thru the process again and write a tutorial using this site and imagecave so users can post pictures. I will do this this weekend. and post as a new thread. unfortunatly between 22nd and 10 jan uary I will be doing this so may be hard to contact. but will check in if I am about. I will go thru the process step by step and take notes and try to make it userfriendly. after 10th january I can be emailed on allan@autojobs.co.nz at work but remember I am not usually online at same time as you lot as 12 hours ahead.
