Hi Roy If you go onto your message you want to delete you will see in the top right hand corner of the message you posted, QUOTE,MODIFY,DELETE you can Delete your message or modify it as you see fit by clicking on these buttons. Hope this helps. GlennR

Roy, I may be wrong on this, but it could be because you are signed in as a guest and not a member.

You know I tried to register before but it keeps coming up saying invalid characters used...I only type my name! I've just tried again but it makes no difference. What have I done wrong

Try using all lowercase with no spaces, punctuation, &, -_.
Email me if it doesn't work.

Roy I had the same problem. It did not like me using spaces that is why i have GlennR as my username. With a few trial and errors I got signed in. It also after a few hits (although i am permanantly logged in) does not recognise me as a member so I have to log back on, enter my password and the check the box for 'Permanant log in' again. It is only a slight irritation but it allows you (as a member) to modify or delete your messages as mentioned in the above postings ;)GlennR

Deleting your own messages seems ok - but how do you delete all those replies once you have ended your subject? Answers it seems stay on forever long after the query has been resolved

The query and its answer form a valuable database of information - the SEARCH facility is quite good provided the default critera are rest. Very few topics have not been rasied less than twice some regularly crop up and are made stickies
I agree some threads may not be all technical but sifiting through all this and deciding what should go is a big unnexssary job. something you think unimportant may be just waht someone else needs
