I've been finding recently that the banner of google adverts often appears in the middle of a post, obliterating the text and there does not seem to be any way of moving or closing it. For example, Phil's first post on water pumps is missing the bottom couple of paragraphs for me.
I use Firefox to browse - dont know if that is an issue or not.

I have no problem Daniel and am using Firefox. try tinkering with your browser settings and/or screen display settings, as these are probably causing this aberration.

Advertisements have started to appear between the first and second posts, presumably to improve visibility and therefore response rate. But they shouldn't impinge on the posts themselves.

Yes, those are the ones. There is a box that they are supposed to appear in. But I find that with the longer first posts the adverts get increasingly out of synch and end up in amongst the text, which you can no longer read.

Try resetting your type size.

The problem has gone away - happened when I updated Firefox although I don't know if that was a coincidence or not.
